Post Card - July 23rd |
Bring me sunshine in your smile Woke this morning after a good night sleeps and set of from Warrington towards Wigan. It was a dull overcast day. There was not much to see on the way and I made good time and continued onwards to Preston. From here I took a planned detour and headed for Blackpool. I got there at lunch time and walked along the Golden Mile". The sun was trying to shine and the holidaymakers were braving the beach and the sea. As I went to take a picture of the tower the red arrows roared into view and put on a display along the beachfront. From here I went around the coast and hit a strong head wind, which slowed me up .I got to Morecambe around 4pm. I walked along the promenade and visited the statue of Eric Morecambe which was unveiled a year to the day (23 July 1999) by Her Majesty the Queen. Its an excellent statue and you have to wait for ages to get a photo of just you and Eric. May your arms be as warm |
